The vintage portrait of Laura Hartwig on the label of her namesake wine immediately transports us back to a “kinder, softer” time. These quoted words are also used to describe this expression of Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a perfect coalescence of product and package.
At a glance, the portrait may seem to reflect the style of retro beauty ads. Its story is deeper than that. The original artwork is much richer in colour and detail. It is the work of celebrated Chilean artist Claudio Bravo. The letters of his name are stacked vertically at the lower right of the portrait. So small, it is a detail most would miss.
The brand name script type is a great match for the depicted era of the label.
The back label succeeds where most fail. In a single paragraph, it profiles the wine, describes the winemaking process and tells a brief story of the founder and her legacy. It tells the reader that this is a New World wine with history. It is the kind of information that converts consideration into sales.
