Leaning Post Piquette

Daryl Woods Publisher/Reviewer

As soon as I saw this label in an Instagram post from Leaning Post Winery I had to get a bottle. Damn! This label is so punk rock! That rooster! The red type blocks! Cue Sid and Johnny.

Leaning Post endeared itself to me on my first visit when they pulled out a Pet Nat labelled “No Sleep ‘Til…”. If you can complete that line you get it.

Most of the products I review are sourced at retail. This I had to order due to Covid-19 lockdown restrictions. From the winery website, I learned Piquette isn’t truly wine. Here are their notes if you’re interested.

You might notice there isn’t a 360° revolution of the bottle as is the case with other reviews. That’s because there’s nothing to see. No back label. What you see is all there is. That’s kinda punk too. Don’t think. Just drink.

Piquette is what it is. Pink, cloudy, fruity, and totally unpretentious. Chill it and chill.
