Emiliana introduced special packaging for their Adobe Rosé. The entire bottle is encased in a beautiful, full-colour paper wrap. The flowers, fruit, birds, and butterflies on a soft pink background are very pretty. But there’s more to this wrapping than aesthetics.
Scrolling through my Instagram feed I came across this stunning image of a bottle of rosé, blushing pale pink and adorned with an elegant Art Deco design in fine white detail. A dazzling Deco typeface presented its name like a movie title on a 1920s theatre marquis. The lighting and reflections in the photo increased the drama. I had to have this wine and share the beauty of the bottle in this space.
Another celebrity wine! This one is from Sarah Jessica Parker. It might be unfair to assume an actor shares their character’s passions but I hoped SJP would create the package design equivalent of Carrie Bradshaw's Manolo Blahnik shoes.
This is the inaugural list of Wine Label Reviews Best Wine Labels. The criteria used to evaluate the winners go beyond aesthetics. They include concept, story, engagement and attention to all elements of the package. And of course, what makes them compelling from a design perspective—images, colour, type, printing processes, and materials.
Zonte’s Footstep has created a fascinating series of labels across their line. The Scarlet Ladybird Rosé is a bold example. Not only bold in scale but also risky.
