Twisted White Blend

Daryl Woods Publisher/Reviewer

The colours. The swirl. The product name typography. I liked this wine label immediately. Appeal can be very simple. Achieving that simplicity is complicated.

This latest iteration of the Flat Rock Cellars Twisted label is the third in a product line that also features red, pink, and sparkling options. The previous editions were unremarkable. I recall them but was never inspired to buy them. Packaging can make that much of a difference.

Embracing Unconventional Winemaking

The concept behind Twisted wines is rooted in employing unconventional methods during the winemaking process. The results have garnered a devoted fan base of like-minded individuals who appreciate the unconventional. These blends represent the definition of twisted as “a winding together so as to produce a single strand.” This inspiration is reflected in the label’s design, with fluid waves of twisted colours gracefully flowing across the label, ensnaring the typography as they wind past it.

The Intriguing Twisted Wordmark

Special recognition must be given to the new Twisted wordmark. The designer has chosen to express the concept of “twisted” by turning the letters in multiple rotations, adding an element of surprise and complexity. This less obvious approach is clever and unexpected. Moreover, the positioning of the letters creates a space for the confidently small Flat Rock Cellars winery name type. To enhance its impact, the Twisted letters are embossed and treated with a spot gloss that demonstrates the brand’s attention to detail.

Twisted White Profile

The blend of Twisted White is primarily Riesling and Gewurztraminer with a touch of Chardonnay. The wine is off-dry, citrusy with a good balance of sweetness and acidity. It is food friendly and a satiating sipper.

The Twisted White wine label design showcases the artistry of unconventional winemaking through mesmerizing waves of twisted colours. It stands as a testament to the power of a well-crafted wine label that captivates consumers and invites them to indulge in an exceptional wine journey.
